Summary

The Third Film in the series produced by Peter Rodgers and Gerald Thomas, follows a group of students at Maudlin Street School, who find out that their headmaster Mr Wakefield, (Ted Ray), is departing at the end of term, so they decide to do everything in their power to dissuade him from leaving. The Cast of teachers include the regular Carry-on-Gang with Hattie Jacques, Charles Hawtrey, Joan Sims, Kenneth Williams and Kenneth Connor. Mr Wakefield’s replacement Alistair Griegg is played by the new cast member Leslie Phillips.

This is an absolute belter of a comedy and one of the best Carry-on’s in the series. It has probably the funniest sequence of all which occurs in the last 15 minutes. The only issue I have with this movie is it’s predictability, even for a comedy made back then, yet it is still a brilliant film that holds up today, 60 years after it’s original release.
